Wooo, yeah, makes me want an X-Box right now. Wow. So cool... I am overwhelmed by their ultra coolness. I must be cool like them and go spend all my money on all of the wonderful, perfect Microsoft products.
Yep, this animation has made me see the light.
Microsoft, so cool.

They're just jealous that nintendo makes all the fun games.
consoles are about gameplay, not about graphic power.

i saw on tech tv that microsoft looses money on each sale of an x-box. where they try to make the money is in the sale of games. the report said that they had to sell seven games per each console sold to break even. I'm not saying its true, but from the report it don't seem like things are going as well as billy boy may have thought. the story also said that they are missing the sales by around three. they need to sell seven per x-box owner they are selling about four per owner. just thought you would like to know.

That's how every major system starting with the Sega Dreamcast does things. The goal is to get the most market share and then make your profits in software. Unfortunately Nintendo is losing horribly. I have all the systems and I've always loved Nintendo's quality games and characters. But they haven't been doing very well since the N64 misstep.

i don't get it, is this just a picture or is it supposed to do something?

Yeah, I'm afraid they may end up like Sega, as a software publisher for the more popular Sony and Microsoft consoles...
Honestly, I'd like the console market to have 3 major platforms. It keeps the market competetive and works best for the consumer, since each platform has to work to entice you.
I may be a solid PS2 fan, but I know that it's the X-Box and Gamecube that keeps encouraging Sony to make my games bad-ass...

Mostly I was just amazed by how unbelievably AWFUL that stupid little web-ad was. I mean, it's just dumb...
I hope to god it's something an amatuer made, and not an official piece of X-Box advertising material.

I doubt that'll happen any time soon, I think the'll be fine as long they don't do something stupid like selling their best game developers like rareware to Microsoft or something....
oh wait a sec, they already did that :(

Right now Sony owns the market by a freaking large margine. We sale twice as many PS2 games at our store than any other game console (and including PC). As for Microsoft. They are doing fine. The xbox isn't going anywhere... not until XBOX2 or whatever... which will be out before PS3 they've promised.
I am worried about Nintendo though. Yes, they've got metroid and Zelda coming out... but seriously. We RARELY sell game cubes at our store. There isn't much of a selection for the system as far as software, and it's just aimed at kids. Nintendo has also made a statement that they will not be making another console... interesting.
Was this WAY off topic?... anyway. yeah. Most likely nobody's going the way of the Dreamcast (which is by FAR the best system ever produced) and with news about Halo 2 spreading fast and excitment building, Microsoft may not pass up Sony, but they certainly aren't going down.

From the sales stats I've seen, Nintendo's selling boat-loads of games, every month. I constantly see at least 3 games in the top ten sales charts for GCN, whereas maybe you see 1 for Xbox.
There isn't much of a selection for the system as far as software, and it's just aimed at kids.
Eternal Darkness, Metroid Prime, Jame Bond, all the sports games, Resident Evil 1 and 0, Waverace, Bloody Roar, Star Wars, Jedi Fighter, Dave Mirra XXX, Beach Spikers, Turok, Ultimate Fighting Championship, Smugglers Run, Tony Hawk 3 and 4, ...
You work at a video game store? Seems to me, that Nintendo has a much better rounded line-up, and more quality titles than Microsoft can shake a stick at.
But hey, at least Xbox owners can play that *great* 'Bruce Lee:Quest of the Dragon' game. :p

Shane, I love Nintendo too but the fact is the company's sort of in trouble. Sony's Playstation brand alone has outsold the NES, SNES, N64 and GameCube unit sales combined.
I couldn't see the ad. I'm also glad that I have friends who own all the consoles out there so I can pick and choose what to try. Gamecube is nice and fun with great games (if they licensed Panasonic's Q, they'd be raking it in). PS2 is okay but I can't get past the jaggies. X-Box is an amazing piece of hardware (not unlike myself) with a mediocre selection of games. Microsoft's acquisition of Rare should rectify that though.
I own a Dreamcast, myself, and I've just recently started ramping up my library since the games are so cheap new and used. I even found a place to get a brand new Seaman in the box with the microphone for $20.

I'm not sure that they've outsold all of Nintendo's systems combined, Chris. But I guess it's possible.
Nintendo's not going to have the problems Sega had though, because of their Gameboy sales. Plus, once they get their Pokemon, Final Fantasy, and Zelda I'd be willing to bet their system sales will spike up dramatically.
Last I saw though, Microsoft wasn't that far ahead of Nintendo in sales.
Microsoft's acquisition of Rare should rectify that though.
It's possible, but then, most of the lead developers belonged to Nintendo, and left Rare when Nintendo sold their Rare stock. So, who knows what kind of games they'll turn out now...

Ohhh. See, I didn't know that.
I downloaded what it told me to download but I still can't see the dang thing. maybe it's all for the better?
