ok i was watching the ballgame last night and an add for the show 24 came on. Now i didn't see much of this show last season. But from what i hear it all takes place in a 24 hour span. Now that being said. Will someone tell me how in the world does a guy grow a full beard in less than 24 hours? I'm seeing this and i ask my wife isn't this all going down in 24 hours? Holly cow that guys facial hair grows fast. Talk about you five o'clock shadows. I'm hoping that this was from a flashback or something to when he had face hair. I'm the type of person that is really bugged by the fact that in the first batman his suit changes like three times in the same fight scene. I really hope that these people didn't make a mistake this bad.
it just started here a few weeks ago. I'm hooked. every tuesday at 9pm I'm all set and eager to find out what happens next.
They started the show by airing two episodes one night and from then on I can't let it go. There's so much going on. I love it.
The only thing that really bothers me is I looked the show up on dvd and total running time was 17+hrs. 17+hrs!!!??? That's 6 flipping hours of commercial time. SIX HOURS!!!! IT'S A FULL WORKING DAY!!!
Makes me wonder what I could do better with my time.... eesh!
The show still rawks my butt tho...or whatever it's called. It's dang good!

TV shows are 44 minutes long. That times 24 episodes gives you between 17 and 18 hours. That's life, it's a business.

Actually, time passes in the episode during the commercial breaks as well.
It works lke this. THe first episode starts at midnight on the day in question. Each episode chronicles one full hour of that day, from hour to hour. At the beginning and end of each commercial break or episode, a clock shows you the time in hours: minutes: seconds, ticking away. Periodically they show different events happening to different people at the same time, through split-screens or creative editing. When the FX channel recently played it as a marathon, it started and ended at midnight, and there were no commercials between episodes, only during.
It's a pretty clever concept, and one that works well, although when you look at the big picture you realize that it's a lot of stuff being packed into an hour... so the writing gets a bit outlandish.
The main character of the new season has a beard because this season takes place on a new, different day... what'll be amusing is that the makeup people will have to make sure his beard stays the same for the whole show...

I'm going to give this show a try. I'm not really good at keeping a watch tv time. (except basketball season). The first thing i thought of when this show started was how are they going to stretch this out into more than one season? But the next day thing works i guess. thanks.

I was hoping that they would have filled the commercial time in on the DVDs, but I guess not. Shame...
It definitley is a series in which you have to try and watch every episode... I'll probably be taping it.
