I'm in the process of designing mine and I'm using dreamweaver. I like the program, but the problem I'm having is finding good online resources. The book only gives you so much. Anyone have any advice they would give on dreamweaver?

I designed my site in dreamweaver, it's pretty simple to use. I've never looked for online resources for it, Flash is another story ;)

yeah I'm sure of the basic controls and things. In the past i used golive and it had several web sites that had tips and tricks. You know like rollover tricks and things. Its not something I'm going to loose sleep over. I just wanted to see if anyone had any cool site dedicated to dreamweaver. The main reason I stopped using go live and started using dreamweaver is the interface and the ease of use. Its a good product.

Get a book. Something like "Teach Yourself DreamWeaver in 24 Hours". It's real easy to look up whatever you want to do.

go to the DreamWeaver site.
I make my sites in Photoshop and Dreamweaver.
If dreamweaver had GoLIves drag n drop feature it would be GOD.
but Dreamweaver is incredible. Once you learn the basics move on and down load some plug ins/ Xtras and you will have a TON of fun.;pencil;

Any advice on Dreamweaver? Yeah - learn HTML. Even if you don't hand code all your Web pages, you'll be able to manage your work in Dreamweaver a lot better when you understand what it's doing and how it's doing it.

I did mine. I just had a friend teach me the basics in a day, and I bought a book. I found it pretty easy.

I’m with PencilJack. Lean raw HTML, and life becomes much easier even when you use an editor like Dreamweaver. I’ve had allot of friends come to me with web design issues and messes they’ve gotten themselves into using Dreamweaver. The first thing I do is look at the raw code, and I can fix most of the problems in notepad.
I love Flash but, as we know on this site, with great power comes great responsibility. With all the good that you can do in Flash, you can also create a horrible user experience with moving buttons and 2 minute animations in-between all your content.
At the end of the month I’m going to the big Macromedia DevCon 2002 in Orlando. I’m hoping to learn more about what future products they have coming out and I’ll let anyone interested know.

I did my own with straight code, but it doesn't look like a professionally built site by any stretch of the imagination. Too cheap to buy a program just to make a personal website.:p
