i do!
well i don't hate the internet in its intention, i mean its an idea akin to communism. sounds good on paper, but when people get their hands on it BAM! it gets all ****ed up so what i guess i'm asking is do you hate what the internet has become?

what exactly has it become?
i love the internet, aside from wasting a ton of time on it, and occasionally cursing at how stupid my computer can be, it's been nothing but great to me
i've been fortunate enough to get involved in communities like this and meet a lot of cool people (thanks again matty, i owe you big time ;) )
so, um, no, the internet does not suck

I can hate the people who try to use it to scam you or to force you into buying something... the aspect of pop-ups and junk mail and all that crap which represents the scum of human nature...
But I can also love that the net allows me to interact with people I might never meet otherwise, to find out information on things that interest me months before they would appear in print magazines or other media, and to have information about all sorts of little things like movie times and phone numbers at my fingertips.
Overall the benefits of the Internet FAR outweigh the crap, at least today.

whats the internet? hehehe. but yeah, its getting to be annoying at times. like, i remember when i first started using it a couple years back, the only ads i really saw were banners at the tops of pages, now some cover the entire frikkin page. its stupid. anyone can get their own website and put whatever they want on it so whenever you need some real information on something, theres a million other jerks whos pages you have to go through to get what you're looking for. but its fun to talk to people, like using IM to talk to family members from other states and stuff without having to pay, so thats cool. i just wish that people would stop using the internet to sell their worthless crap.

because of the internet i've been able to:
-meet all of you
-buy stuff way cheaper than what i would find it for would i to search around town
-meet loose chicks who .... well, .......*cough*
-read comics by awesome people (jason and bob)
-i am in the know about alot of cool stuff that would have normally passed me by, (also thanks to most of you on here)
-I get to keep in touch with friends who have moved away.
_I like email as opposed to snail mail.

the only thing i hate about the internet is how it compells me to look at nakey people.
otherwise i love being connected to people, the sheer convenience....and hell, i love anything invented by al gore!

Well, everything has a downside, huh? ;)
If not for the internet, I never would have met Terry, who was partially responsible for me getting back into comics after a ten year hiatus. So yeah, I love the internet.

I love the internet.
There are sites out there that are beyond belief and I love looking for them.
The only thing I hate are pop-ups. :(
I'm coming across more and more pop ups that try to disconnect my modem and re-connect it to a high-tariff phone line.
That should be stamped out bloody quickly - because with some of them the only way of stopping it happening is switching the PC off at the mains power socket.

Gotta say I love it.
Now, of course, I make my living off the Internet, but I’ll be the first to say that the over capitalization of the Internet through intrusive marketing is killing it for everyone.
I just wonder how long it will be before billboards talk to you (Minority Report). There has to be a better way to make money on your site, and advertise for others, without mangling the user’s experience.
Ah, the good old days of flashing banner ads that just wanted you to catch the monkey.

I use the EMS Free Surfer mk II program, seems to do the trick quite nicely. It does block some pop ups that you may WANT, but all you have to do, if it doesn't load, is press CTRL and SHIFT at the same time and click the link. No pop ups on my pc and it's totally free.
Or you could always use the Mozilla browser and turn on the 'block unrequested windows' option. I had some trouble with Mozilla, however, when it came to some Flash applications on some sites.

Love the internet. Its way better than watching TV. Now that I hate. There is SO much garbage on the TV and people that watch it sit there, slack jawed waiting to laugh as mostly dimwitted, uncreative, beating a dead horse jokes. with the internet, I can learn and discover things I never new about. Sure, I also surf around, wasting my time too, but I still guarantee that I have more interactivity and brain activity than the average American who watches 6 hours of TV a day.
But I think I know what you mean. Sometimes you hate it... kind of a "cant live with it, cant live without it" kind of thing... Just like $ .99 crispy tacos
For those of you who are plagued by pop-up advertising BS, check out this site
http://www.panicware.com/index.html
They have a free pop-up stopper program that you can find in the “Downloads” tab (there will be three links in that tab… follow the link that has the word free in the description (middle one, I think) and then scroll through the downloadables for the free version.) I got it about 3 years ago and it was a beautiful addition to my computer. The version I got back then had no “extras” It only stops extra windows from opening. You can open second windows by pressing the shift key when hitting a link. I actually use this as a tool to open new windows when I don’t want to leave the page I am on.
Because my version is from 3 years ago, I cannot attest to the newest free version. It could be the same that I have, It could be different. But I definitely recommend checking it out. The world of the net became a whole lot better after installing it.

*chance to talk to real freaks and then meet them in real life so they can stalk you for all time and then kill you.
*being flooded with useless ads and lotteries.
I enjoy the Internet, I just don't enjoy to pay for it...
LMAO - totally agreed..at least not pay Bill Gates, but that's a bit unavoidable.
Ah, if all things were free...I'd be very much concerned. :p
