just start randomly doodling. dont think about what you are drawing just go and see what comes out. this usually helps me get the creative juices flowing.

for me its a mood and my surroundings that make everything work right for me. if i only feel right once a week thats all i draw. sometimes it might be five times a week. are you more realized at school ?

I get pissed more often when I'm actually drawing something and its not coming out right. I draw every day of my life so the getting started thing is no problem for me. It's the making sure it's coming out like it looks in my brain is what seems to be the hard part. There have been plenty of nights when it seems like I just cant draw anything good but those are the nights when I just try to relax and do some sketches/studies in my sketchbook.

School seems to be alot easier to draw in, there is more people around me and more refrence, sometimes i can draw good at home but it really only at home where final good drawings get done. Whats gay is im a senior in HS and my teacher knows im ahead of the class yet he persists i draw blocks and buildings with light sources still. Tommorow im gonna tell him i wanna learn some stuff before im shipped of. Maybe he can help me anatomy a little and i can get my style developed. I just spent about 2hrs messing around with this image of a girl/cyborg sideways and messed it up by using colour pencils on it. Then i attempted to go over on it with charcoal, im not as mad because it was a 7/10 in pencil but i messed it up, im just glad i pushed something out. Well im looking forward to learning painter, becoming a sloppy artist with colours, ive never used colours much in my life, its the same old grey pencil. The only problem is there is only one copy of Painter 7 on kazaa and im getting 5kbps, lol. Well im about ready to go to bed, by the way you guys should check out www.conceptart.org it gave me some phat ideas and what my style would like to be in painter.

you know i used to have this problem, especially at home. but then i got to thinking, "hey the writer of the book i'm working on owns a comic store, why don't i go there and work?"
it's a great place to work, he's got a studio space in the back, but most of the time i sit up front in the store section and do so.
there is so much reference around, it's hard to get much of a writer's block.
so maybe you could find some sort of place that inspires you, it's helped me.
