Stare at the black dot and move your head towards and away from the screen.

Read the text on the image. It's true.

That second one I found to be quite unbeleiveable until I created a bridge of the same colour between the two checkers in a paint program.

I hear you also painted the Sistene Chapel, The Last Supper, and that world famous painting of the dogs playing poker. ;)

I found these posted on another board - don't know where they were origanally found. I read the 2nd one and actually said outloud "bulls**t". Then I did the photoshop thing and said it again 4 or 5 times in a row. I copied the B square and dragged it beside the A square - it looked like it was actually changing shades as I moved it up. **insert bugs bunny discombobulated head shaking noise***

The second one didn't fool me..
You just have to de-focus your vision and you'll see that they're the same.

Well, I don't get the second one but it's not bothering me enough to go and compare the squares with some program that I don't know how to use anyway. It'd be nice to have it explained though...

There's not much to explain. "B" should look darker than "A" to your eye but they are actually the same tone.

I used to have the first as a Desktop image... kooky.

The second just makes my head hurt... it shouldn't work, but it does. Very feaky.

I like that first one, but even though I have proven it my brain still wont accept the last one.
