Real DBZ tournament match ups!!!

I got a bit impatient with Rey and just decided to give him a "To be Anounced" until he picks one.

You can start on this early if you'd like, the real start date is not until tueday the 8th which is where the four weeks will start. so size up your opponents and think of the ways that you would draw them fighting each other.

post all entries here from where ever it is that you posted them.
and if you can, no "txt" or "geocities" just good old jpegs and gifs. if you can that is.

Post artwork at www.deviantart.com if you need some where to post them, I'd rather you not use geocities. but if you do, I wont hold it against you, I just wont be able to see the pics for myself.

You've got plenty of time, so make it count, go all out if you can, or go as little as you can to just penciled in pieces.

and have fun with this. use the characters abilities to your advantage.

on the next episode goku and freeza begin to fight... next episode they talk a lot... then at the end they begin to charge at each other and then... stay tuned for scenes from the next DBZ...

This pisses me off all the time.

next episode comes on, they fight for a few seconds and then for the rest of the show, talk some more.



anyway, sorry frank, maybe in the next character type tournament. I'm thinking of the next tournament to be a sequential battle royal, But that's for a later time. I'll start that one after this DBZ tournament.

Don't get confused by morganza's sketch, that's just a preview of what he's going to draw his character like.

You must draw your character fighting the other character.

That means that there should be two characters in each piece.

Does everyone know that now? you all clear on what to do? ask now because I don't want to see final versions of just one character. If you've got a question, then shoot it up.

Also if you're going to post preview sketches here. then say that it's not the final version. just a preview.

Morganza, I'm pretty sure that that pic is not the final version and that you will draw both character.

I think that cartoony would work better. If you'd see a hair cut like this in real life then it would look really weird. The cartoony stuff adjusts to please the eye.

That's just my opinion, I would mind though to see either verion. :D

No it doesn't, you can have this finished in any medium. pencil, inks, or color. It all depends on you and how far you're willing to go.

Me I'm going to do pencil/colors. I can't ink for shit, so I'm going to leave that part out. Not because I want to but because I can't do that part very well. I'll prabably just digitally ink it in instead.

I don't know how you convused "Nov 5th" with today, but just to let everyone know again that they've got plenty of time to do their best.

The next round though will be cut down to 2 weeks.

after that, the third round will be cut to 1 week.

and for the finalists, they will be given 2 and a half weeks. or between 1.5 to just 2 weeks. I don't know, I'll figure it out when it comes to that.

Finally finished the pencils for round one. It was a bitch to scan in, I drew it on two pieces of 11 by 17 paper. I plan to color it in for the final piece.

Yeah, vctrstigma9 is right.. How so you do for the pencils looks so dark, almost as ink?! Great.

And Xadrian,I don't think thats a bad thing, I like to see characters the originally have one stlye into another, I even think that's a good thing.

I go from a 3h pencil to a b pencil and then after that I scan it in and go to the layer window. I then click on the half white half black circle at the bottom to pop up a menu to choose from. I then click on levels and start to minipulate the level graph.

I usually will create two graphs. One to make the lines darker and the other graph to get rid of the sketchy marks or other unwanted lines to clean up the page.

I also mask the levels with a black fill and then with a brush tool set to white, I go over the specific spots that need to be affected.

yup that's me! i'm normally there through out the week, working on stuff right up front.

oh and i've got mine inked, but not scanned yet. hopefuuly i'll get photoshop soon so i can color it, though i just might use my handy prisma colors to do so.

i actually don't have photoshop right now, so unless i get it real soon ( i 'll be getting it for a job), i'll end up doing it w/ prisma colored markers and colored pencils. unless i can get it to look good in ms paint.

vctrstigma9- Nice movement and forshortening. Reminds me of Damien Scott(?)'s work on Batgirl. But I think adding a background would make it twice as good, thanks to the nice tight composition.

sketch2k- That sketch rocks. Really good angle and movement. Maybe Vegeta should be blazing up a energy blast, to make it look like Satan is really gonna get it. The thought ballons are priceless, btw.

Vegeta- I just finished mine up in painter tonight. So that's a yes for me. ;)
