Hello all,
This has nothing to do with comics but I crawled into a hole last Saturday, with my computer and coffee maker, on a mission. That mission: to work for espn.com. They happen to be looking for a flash designer, but they want someone with a bachelors degree and five years experience. Well having neither of those qualifications, I decided to prove to them you don't need the degree or experience if your dedicated, talented, and are just a wee bit on the crazy side. So for the past 6 days I've slaved over my computer night and day.
This is what happened...

Tomorrow I send out my resume and the project. Wish me luck.

I ****ing love it. Can you do one for the Patriots? Heh. Best of luck because this is seriously impressive. If this doesn't get you the job with ESPN, it's the kind of portfolio piece that could get you a job a lot of other places.

I waited about 20 minutes to see it, but it wouldn't finish loading.
I'll check again later.

Thanks chris glad you liked it. I hope it gets me some work, I'm just shooting for an interview at this point.

Do you have the latest flash player? You need macromedia flash player 6.

That is sooooo freaking cool. I love it! Man, I have got to go work on learning flash now.
Of course me being English, all those stats and stuff were complete gibberish, but it looked and worked great

Nice!! I'd be espescially interested in seeing what you'd put together given some funding... keep in mind that with a big client like ESPN the competition should be stiff.
Some of the best Flash work on the web can be seen on 2Advanced.com (http://www.2advanced.com)... they're a high benchmark to set oneself against, but its a cool example of the potential of the program.

thanks all for the comments Im glad you all liked it.
hey inkthinker I know the competition will be stiff for espn, but i had no work that i had done with a focus in sports. So i threw this together. A lot of that was research time.
I think eric and the rest of the 2advanced crew do great work, and I have no doubt that I can do work that is on par with them. When I put my mind to something watch out.
Right now I'm just trying to get an interview anywhere and a friend who works at espn told me they were highering so I threw this together in less than a week, and that is what I am most proud of.
PEACE,
Drop
