Interesting.

On a related note, sort of, I picked up StarFox the other day. Damn, if you liked Zelda on the N64, even remotely, I highly advise you to go get this game right now.

Nintendo is kicking ass, and taking names, this year!

Yeah, it is. I'm so glad that I stuck to my guns and got a Gamecube. All of my friends were pushing me to get an X-Box, but I loved N64, so I wanted a GC. They all called me stupid. The irony, though, is that the game that I bought the system for(and waited 6 months for), turned out to be the most disappointing game I own. Yes, I'm talking about Wrestlemania X8. But, who cares when I have Eternal Darkness, Mario Sunshine, Resident Evil and...

I just got Starfox, and I have to say that, after being blown away by the graphic superiority of Mario Sunshine, I was completely floored by the graphics on Starfox.

I point and laugh at all of my friends.

3 of my 4 friends who bought an x-box will admit they wish they had a cube now. One however, absolutely refuses to say anything nice about Nintendo, he still feels that there were no good games for the N64, and that Nintendo burned him somehow.

Of course, he's one of those people who buys games based on the packaging, and *never* reads reviews, or he might have found that there were a lot of great games on the N64. (With the exception of fighting games, and RPG's, that is. Those were lacking.)

I believe thats the Only reason Nintendo was outdone by Sony in the past few years
Seeing as how they had the lions share of products from Namco, Capcom and Square all primarily making Rpgs and Fighting games

And thats the only thing that would prevent me from buying a Gamecube is the lack of games from these companies....of course that could change.
God, if only they could do Super Nintendo part II!! Any and every game that was worth playing was on on SNES

Capcom has exclusive titles for the Cube, like the Resident Evil series. R.E. Zero should be out soon.

Namco is making the next Starfox game, and has also formed a strategic alliance with Nintendo and Sega, to make games for the 'Tri-Force' arcade board, which is basically the arcade equivalent to the Cube. And Sega is making the new F-Zero.

Square is making Final Fantasy Chronicles for the Cube, which so far, is just amazing looking, and thank god, goes back to it's fantasy/medevil roots.

Also, a lot of people seemed to have missed them, but Namco released Ridge Racer 64, and Wipeout 64. Haven't played Wipeout, but R.R. 64, was amazingly good. It has the first two R.R.'s, and different contol schemes to use, not button layouts, but you can choose between different physics for the cars, and how they drift.

I think you want a gameboy advance. One game that I hope they bring out for the GBA, would be Starfox.

I read a rumour, that Nintendo has developed a chip, that will power the 32 bit engine in the GBA, to outperform the PS1's polygon capabilities. Some of the games for the GBA, if you didn't know, already use polygon graphics, like Crash Bandicoot, which I hear is really good looking.

Tekken Advance is one sweet looking game too. But Firepro wrestling, is probably my fave. (not so great graphically, but great gameplay! Oh, and I made a Savage Dragon model, to beat the crap out of all the other wrestlers.)

That is truly a weird game.

Speaking of games that no one gets to play, did anyone here besides myself import a copy of Tobal 2 for the PS1 several years ago? 60fps, clean textures, high poly characters.. Square and Dream Factory maxed out (albeit smoothly maxed out) the PS1 farther than any old Gran Turismo game ever did and we never got to play it due to the fact that Tobal No. 1 sold poorly.

The quest mode in 2 was huge, too. Very deep gameplay and lots of items and characters/monsters to unlock and play (I think it was like 140 different character models, all slightly varying in play).

Yeah! GBA is sooooo freakin awesome!!!! Its amazing that they can reproduce games at the quality they do
I believe that will pull that off...they already are getting some near PSX quality stuff right now

I saw that Final Fantasy Tactics 2 is coming exclusively to GBA which has sealed the deal for me getting one

I remember seeing that in a few mags when it came out and thinking how ambitious it was to combine a rpg and a fighter like that...which they tried again with Ergheiz
I never got to play either of the Tobal games.....Akira Toriyama did the designs for it which is a big plus in making me want to play it

I used to be an asst. manager at Electronics Boutique, and I vaguely remember trying Tobal when it first came out. I do recall that it looked pretty good, but I don't remember much else about it.
