I like the Dragon Ball (z) manga. The show gets a bit too drawn out for me. The Funimation dub doesn't help at all...

wahtever. Like the dub isn't so ****ing good. I don't even want to hear and otaku bullshit over this. THe voices are fine, the show is great, I just wish they could pump out 4 episodes a day with no reruns........ EVER!

The voices suck man.

Remember the voices they had in 95'? I could live with those. The ones they have now are too goofy. I can't stand the background music either.

That's my opinion.

The only gripe I have with the anime as opposed to the manga is that the anime is SO drawn out. Events that happen in the space of a few pages in the books take half a damn episode.

This largely has to do with the fact that the animated series was being created almost simultaneosly with the manga, and in fact they were producing episodes of the anime FASTER than Toriyama was producing new episodes of the manga... so they had to add in material to the anime episodes, in some cases adding in entire story arcs (remember when Bulma, Krillin, and Gohan first went off to Namek to look for the new Dragonballs, and met the two guys that were pretending to be Namekians, as well as the giant starship full of kids? All of that was made up just for the anime... in the manga they go straight to Namek.) just so they can string out the damn show a bit more.

"The planet is going to explode in just 15 minutes!! We've got to get away!!"

(10 episodes of relatively non-stop fighting later...)

"The planet is going to explode in just 5 minutes!! WE've got to get away!!"

I like how they build up to a big face-off for five episodes, then the characters stare at each other and grunt and flex and glow for another three, then they fight for four episodes. All amounting to three minutes DBZ time.

I'm a big fan. I think some highlights are the 2nd Vegeta, Goku fight (during the tournament) and the end of the Cell series, the fight between Gohan and cell.

But I have three words for you

Buu

The people who hate DBZ more than likely never seen the subtitled movies.

I saw all the movies before I ever saw the series.
Once I saw the dubbed series I was like WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SHIT?

I GUARANTEE you will love the movies

Coora (Freezas brother) is one of THE BEST enemies. the second movie he is in has the best fighting.

Broli the Legendary Super SaiyaJin is so bad ass he wipes out a galaxy in the first 30 seconds of the movie.

IM telling you, dont get the dubbed movies, buy the subtitled UNCUT versions,


and SCREW YOU UA, DBGT is TIGHT. nothing BUT fighting and none of the drawn out crap from the original series, they get straight to fighting.

I bet you never even watched the WHOLE series.

So, anyway, I watch DBZ with the sound off mostly. I sort of make up my own plot and dialogue.
Tonight's was so... sad. First Goku made his son and another little boy do a complex dance routine, and him and the guy who looks like a zucchini were all prancin' around and showing them how it's done. There must have been like disco music blaring I imagine. He was yelling at the boys because they weren't being feminine enough or something when they tried it.
And that fat pink(?) guy was all flying around and blowing stuff up, and then he turned a village into dough and made a house and used the batroom.
But THEN it got sad, cause a tiny witch riding a floating ball interupted thier dancing and then they were GOING to have a picnic but Goku's wife got woken up by all the noise and started yodelling. The witch said something sexually suggestive to Goku, and he flew off with her into the sky as his little boy cried.

(struggling to hold back tears)

Actually, I saw some of those way before I saw the stuff on Cartoon Network. The first DBZ stuff I saw was back in 1996, my first year of college. Didn't like it then . . . .don't like it now. I just don't like it, period.
