I'm getting some offers, and I need to know the industry standard. Thanks, JRIIIhttp://groups.msn.com/THEARTOFJAMESRITCHEYIII

ok, if the offers are from Avatar, Antarctic Press, Verotik, Harris, LNS, LNE, Arcade (previously Awesome), or a group of 10 others whom need not mentioning, keep on walking. They don't honour a contract for sh*%....speaking from experience of course.
ex. 1a-Avatar-contract stated directly that the 'artist' (me) shall be supplied 300 copies (150 of each cover) without cost and all supplied art boards shall be returned within 10 days of date of publish for the serialized storis...
result? Five years later and I still get mad at looking at the 2 copies I had to buy from my local shop/to show off what I worked on, and still waiting on the orig's....funny thing is, the art is "on its way once we get the chance"....-common song singing bastids

I feel your pain, i've had my originals sold on Ebay without my knowledge.

I always send copies. Thanks for the advice, and sorry you've had so many sour experiences. It's Impulse Studios, and I got a copy of their contract, and it's very nice, and according to Danny Donovan they're very for real. I'm kind of having issue w/ my book not being in color initially, so I'm still wondering if I'm going w/ them. I got two other offers at Dragon Con. I went to your sights; nice work.

Uh-- I was still wonderin' if anybody has a copy of a contract for Image or Avatar or whoever-- for creator-owned properties laying around that they could send me. I would love you forever.
