I rarely have artist block these days (a professional can't afford the luxury), but there are some days when I have the same thing happening. I'll draw and draw and my waistbasket just keeps filling up.:( When that happens I try to step away from the table and do something physical (usually lifting weights or taking a walk). I find that the exercise helps me to regain my focus. Sometimes you just have to back away from drawing and do anything else.

It might be that you need to exercise the artistic side of your brain a little. Pull out one of your favorite comics (or several) and flip through them again. That sometimes helps me. Just looking at some Jack Kirby, Steve Rude or Wally Wood artwork usually does the trick for me.

You might try participating in Critical Mass or an arena battle. That snapped me out of a 6 month artists block a while back. And now my work is better than ever.

I agree with Loston. Whenever I feel like I'm producing nothing that I'm happy with, I still sort of power through it by continuing to draw.

And nothing helps me better than going for a long walk or running. It always clears my mind and gives me a natural high ('cuz your body's now full of endorphins). One other thing is that I take the time to really plan out most of my artwork these days with thumbnails, taking the time to do any research for reference, making sure everything I need is at my art table and then taking the time to draw out really complex figure interaction or architecture type stuff on the back of my page, then flipping the page and lightboxing it. It all combines to make the actual drawing that much easier and I can usually stomache what I drew for a day or two.

I agree with Loston, I'm fighting through artists block and just amped up the amount of drawings I normally turn out to try to bust out of it.

Another thing that works for me is to draw something that you draw well. When ever I get into a block, I draw animals because that's what I'm best at drawing. Builds my confidence back up and then I move on to the drawing that was giving me trouble.

I'm entering into my 8th week of not being able to draw a damn thing.

I'm so frustrated - :(

smoke some weed.

It'll probably not help you out of your block , but it WILL make you feel better.

what you may need is some time to get inspired.
try doing something thats not in your daily comfort zone.
say like go to the zoo.
or go on a bike trip for a week.
go to a car swap meet.
parachuting.
motocross.
museum.
aquarium.
marina.
etc.
things that is not part of your daily routine.

Check out this site. Look it over. Take the time to read some of the stuff
http://www.mos.org/leonardo/bio.html

Then when you are done reading that look at these:

http://banzai.msi.umn.edu/leonardo/

and then dive into whatever it is you want to draw. It helps to look at someone else who probably had artist block a few times in his life. Try copying something of his. It'll get you juices flowing I promise.
