Actually, no, or else they wouldn't sell as amazingly well as they do.

I'm really wanting the next book too...damn the long wait. It's worse than Planetary.

They are pretty good... each book ages the characters a year, and each one does a pretty good job of maturing the style of writing and content to match.

I'm also awaiting the next book, but I can wait... she'll produce something soon, or her publisher will start getting pissy.

Bloombsbury Publishing, publisher of the popular HARRY POTTER books, announced yesterday that it will not establish a publishing date for the fifth book in the series as author J.K. Rowling has repeatedly failed to deliver it on time. "The publication date of the fifth HARRY POTTER will be announced after it has been delivered," said Bloomsbury. "Joanne is happily writing away."

One thing to keep in mind is that the soonest the book could be on shelves is a full five months after the manuscript is turned in. That means that even if she delivered a draft tomorrow that didn't need to be edited, the book would not be out until late February. The earliest I would hazard a guess is that Summer 2003 is when you'd see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

And I believe that lawsuit was thrown out because the word muggle meant something else in the plaintiff's writings. It's just a silly made up word and was obviously not stolen.

I love these books. I don't think that they are just for 12 yr olds. BAH I say to that! I agree with Jacob. You give the first book a try and you'll see that you're hooked. I want to read the next one pretty badly also but I can wait.

Am I the only one wondering if there's something wrong with Fumunda? LOL :p

Yes, I want the new HP to come out soon too, but I've heard that not only is JKR recently married, but also pregnant, so I believe that may be putting things on the back burner a bit. Life does that.

That lawsuit was dropped and considered fraud. I heard it rumored that the book might make it out around Christmas time, but I doubt it.

i love the series too, infact crazyjedi chicken and my ex-girlfriend got me into them.
i dont think she'l deliver the goods until the 2nd movie is out-at least.
im lookin forward to it though.
1 thing i dont get is that the names of the books and movies are differant, in the U.S and Europe. its weird.

The names are different because US focus groups tell them that Americans don't understand no big words.

Well, just to repeat - the book won't be out at Christmas because it takes five months minimum from the time JK Rowling turns in her manuscript. Since she hasn't done that yet, there's no possible way it would be ready in time for the 2nd movie. Chances are, the 2nd movie will be out on DVD long before the fifth book is released.

I read something yesterday that the book would be out in 2003.

When harry is 12, I think it is time that he'll discover what he can do with his magic wand, if you catch my drift... ;bp;

From the Wall Street Journal's interviw with Rowling, published yesterday:

Ms. Rowling atributed the delay on this latest book to exaustion from her last book, the distractions of fame, the length of the manuscript and changes in her personal life. The best-selling auhors, who remarried last December and has a nine-year-old daughter, added that she is four months pregnant.
Ms. Rowling declined to set a date when she will submit the manuscript to her publishers, but she didn't contradict a suggestion that the work could be submitted within three o sx months. "When will I hand it in? I don't want to say, but it won't be very long," she said. Once the manuscript is submitted and thouroughly edited, Ms. Rowling's publishers could issue a finished book in as little as 2.5 months.

Ermmm... yeah.

Except he's fifteen in the next book. Age 'em one year for each book, remember?

She might deal with that, but if she does I expect she'll save it for the last book so as to not be seen as encouraging teenage sex.

Nonono, not sex, I was talking about Harry stroking his own wand like most kids around that age, because frankly, I don't think I can sink any lower with my thoughts these days.
Steven King would've written about it two books ago.

Well, how about...
What do you get when you clone a buccaneer?
- A pirate copy.

That's it- I'm out of here. Thank you!

No shit. I remember going to get Goblet the day it came out, and when I saw the size of that sucker, I was all, "Shhhiiiiiiiii....."

That sumbitch was bigger than a mo' fo'. Anyone who says that Harry Potter books are for 12 year olds must know some heavy-readin' 12 year olds. Usually, I see recommendations, or something about "reading level", for 9 to 12 year olds, but seriously, when I was 12, I never would have touched a book that was over 700 pages.

Maybe I was just a moron.

"Dey ain't many pitchurs in dis book, izzay?"
