Guys, I'm confused...can anyone tell in what continuity is the Sin City story "Just Another Saturday Night" take place? It can't be after the mini-series (duh!) unless Marv is somehow resurrected...but if it's before, then how come he says that his mother "got sick and died" when she appears in the mini-series...any thoughts?

Thanks in advance :)

It takes place somewhere in between that first story, I believe.

Well, I'm a Sin City expert and when I read this, I didn't understand what you were talking about. So, I pulled out Just Another Saturday Night to see if Miller could have actually made a continuity mistake.

He didn't.

The exact quote is, "If it hadn't been for my Mom getting sick when she did..."

No mention of her death at all. You just misread.

All cleared up.

Oh, then it's a translation error because I bought a translated version of Silent Night while I was in Yugoslavia...

Anyway, thanks guys :)

i remember reading an interview where FM said that the last scene of the first mini is the LAST sincity story...ever

so anything with miho or dwight takes place between or before scenes in that original series...i guess there's no telling how long marv was in prison before the end of the book, so that leaves the time frame rather vague...

The Sin City books aren't published chronologicaly. Some of the stories take place at the same time. Many times, you can look in the background of a panel and see a scene from another story already published going on, or a story yet to be published.
Best way to know when it's happening for me is if Marv's alive, apparently it takes place before he got fried in the chair. If Dwight has hair, it's after his plastic surgery.
Only continuity problem I see (or imagine), is I keep thinking I see Manute get killed in like every other series, then he pops up again.
