View Full Version : Name one thing that you really can't stand.
Just one thing. I know there was a similar thread on here, but I just want to know the one thing that irks you people to no extent.
My one thing is:
The word "kudos".
I can't stand it. I don't know why, but I just can't stand it. It's the one flaw I find in the Foo Fighters song "My Hero", too.

This may spark some controversy, but the thing that irks me most RIGHT NOW is when someone who is religious looks at you and shakes their head because you aren't.
This happened last week. I had this girl look at me, shaking her head, telling me, "I pray every morning. I'm sorry but, I just don't know how you get through the day, Norm."
It kills me because people like that just can't be happy with themselves and leave it at that. They have to try and make someone else feel less for not having the same beliefs.
I'm a nice guy. I could easily have told her, "I would feel more satisfied bowing before my Batman Pez dispenser and giving thanks to it for bestowing me with the pleasures of sugar than to give thanks to some non-existent being." But I didn't. I just shrugged and walked away, steamed.
I have no problem with people and their beliefs, but don't look down on me for not having the same beliefs.
That really irks me.

I despise stuck-up fanboys.
they give a bad name to all those people who love comics, but still have a life outside of comics.
I'm talking about those, typical 'I'm-so-much-better-than-u-'cos-I-love-Star-Trek' kinda guys. u know what I mean? they get my freakin' knickers in a twist.
Seriously, if u spend ur time memorising movie scripts an' growing a beard in the hopes that u could still look cool , u really have nothing to be proud of an' I really pity u...
This ain't got nothin' to do with any o' u guys on the board, jus' somethin' that happened to me the other day..;)

Are you saying that you don't look down on them for believing in a "non-existent being"?
What really gets to me are some of the people that follow religion.
I do not follow nor do I believe in any religions, I do believe in a thing, happening, or "someone". Meaning something/someone (if at all) happened to create all this. That I know, it's a cause and affect thing. But I'm not going to take shots at what that something is and then treat it like a fact. We're here... that's all I know.
I'm not obligated by anything to slave myself by going to church every sunday or read a ****ing bible. The only thing that I need to do is to be human and live.
Though it's not the religion that causes people to do stupid things. it's the people themselves, foolish, sick, and ignorant. This only applies to the people who do acts of stupidity and ignorance. There are good people who are religious.
so It's not really religion that pisses me off, it's some of the people that follow it and their actions.

My mom does the whole "looking down on me and other people for not being Christians" thing. And she just started going back to church a few months ago. And when she went to church when I was a kid, she got baptised every other week. I'm not kidding, whenever she feels guilty I guess. And right afterwards, she's Mother frickin' Therressa, and can walk on water and do the loaves and fishes trick. So I really don't hate religion, I hate my Mom. Really. She is SUCH a bitch. You would hate her too, so don't give me any crap.

I can not stand asshole art school teachers.
Let's not all get in on the religion topic. I think it's a general rule that while it's good for individuals to believe in a higher power, it's bad when they all get together and try to force others into the same belief. I'm neither religious nor am I organized, and I've had my share of people witnessing to me, but the whole topic is just such a bag of worms that it's bound to rile up any and every one who reads threads like that.
People do indeed suck, btw. And I've driven through evening rush hour traffic in L.A. before, but I guess I hit it on a good day because the drivers there actually let me merge when I blinked, didn't crowd, didn't get into accidents on the roads I was on and didn't try to shoot me. I didn't like seeing all the razor wire on all the signs and such though.

Now see.
Those kind of people reeaaally get to me.
And religious people who say "who cares in god we trust is on the quarter". Of course THEY don't care. But everytime I try to talk about it in a civilized discussion thats the answer I get.

I really can't stand when people who enjoy all the liberties and priviliges of the United States, especially her own citizens, talk shit about America. This is my country, I love her and have fought to defend her. If somebody has a problem with certain laws,Bills,or anything in general, CHANGE IT! Don't just sit there and talk about "how crappy the U.S. is because..." Get up off your lazy ass and at least vote. Those who applaud the terrorist actions or say that we deserved it, I hate you because several thousand innocent people died and you sit there and wag your finger. If all these people really got a problem with this country,I got one simple solution, GET THE F**K OUT. But that's just it, these people won't leave and they continue enjoying American liberties. So,what I have to say to these people is,"Shut the f**k up", and consider all your hoe cards pulled.Bitches.
P.S.-Another thing I can't stand are athiests knocking on religious people.There.Now we can leave the Religion subject alone.

I remember one day I was having one of my supposed "greatest days." You know how it goes. Everything was going right. I had the day off work. I won a HUGE bet. I gave a cool dinner for my friends with the money I won. I took my girl out for a bit of shopping. The best part: my girl didn't complain about a single thing all day. Then as I was going to the car, I saw an old guy running down the road wearing shorts that would make John Stockton running for cover. BAH!!!!!!

And regarding the religion issue, I can't stand dumb@$$e$ who knock religion just because they have no use for it. You won't see me going around shoving my views on religion down peoples throats or handing out bibles door to door. Just because the small few of you were victimized by some fanatics which also happens to be what those terrorists are, doesn't mean you should spread their the cycle of hatred on us. Don't let the few bad apples ruin it for the rest of the orchard, know what I'm saying? Anybody who spreads his hatred of religion is just as bad the people he hates, the close minded relegious fanatics.

Lately I can't stand when people sing along to songs (at work or in a car) when other people are in direct earshot.
Mainly, I can't stand this large (round) dude at work who's voice is right about at female pitch who sings Melissa Etheridge, Alanis Morissette and any and all female singers' songs at louder-than-speaking voice. It's creepy as hell since all he sings are women's songs about "finding a man" and he's singing in a woman's voice. And he DOESN'T STOP.

I'm annoyed by the success of Adam Sandler films and the rock band Creed.
I'm annoyed by Doctor Phil.
I'm annoyed by Senator Hillary Clinton and her message that it takes a village which ignores personal responsibility.
I'm annoyed by people who are new to a website and reply to a post that asks for one example and give multiple.

then you probably wouldn't enjoy my karaoke rendition of "When I think about you I touch myself." i not only sing like a girl, infront a large crowd of people (mostly scary mullets and dirtbags that i like to alienate), but during one of the musical breaks, i lay down on stage and flip my legs over my head (to where my knees and shins are flat against the floor) and say "who needs to touch themselves when you can do this?!" and then i pretend to perform fellatio on myself.
:)

That's very disturbing. I have one for you, MC: I did a web-exclusive cover of the Dixie Chicks' "Cowboy take Me Away" in the style of a semi-fictitios Chinese man. I can't find it anywhere online anymore, but it got circulated around Napster back in the day as "Dixie Chicks- Live at the Budokan". If I find it again, I'll post it up and notify any takers.

I can't stand people who berate America, even though they are here enjoying the freedoms afforded to them by it. Bubba of the Monsters of the Midday put it best, "If you don't like our philosophy, get the hell off our property."

When you have to take a dump in a public bathroom.
When someone catches you picking your nose.
The hair on my ears.
When someone talks halfway though a movie and then needs to ask you questions for the other half about that happened.
On the issue of agnostics (or atheists) vs. religious folks, it all comes down to respect and tact. There’s nothing wrong with a polite and honest discussion about your views. That’s what helps us create our opinions and beliefs. But both parties have to respect the others views and attempt to be tactful. Views on God, or the lack-there-of can be very personal and can quickly heat up. I’m religious, but most of my friends are not. We talk and joke about it sometimes but no one has ever pushed views on each other, we’ve just learned from each other.

Wow I don't know where this thread came from and haven't read it all but I just want to give some thanks to Dan for typing my exact thoughts on religion/how we got here. Thanks man! :)
I remember walking to school one day (this is in college by the way) and there were some kind of street preachers bugging people trying to get to school. Well being the nice person that I am I didn't tell them to **** off and they asked me if I was religious and I said no. I immediately got that look that popninja was referring to and no matter how much I told them I'm VERY SPIRITUAL they still had to press on and didn't want to give up until I siad I was religious. I obviously didn't give in and left it at that. You don't have to be religious to be spiritual and respect things that are up and out there or whatever the case may be.
I'd say my current most cringing thing that I hate is the pittsburgh accent *VOMIT* It give me an instant stress ball in the center of my forehed and my ears burn right when I hear it.
