Cook e. Monster
great job guys!

What can I say?
I wasted an entire sketchbook trying to churn out a picture of this guy and what I came up with was unadulterated crap. I couldn't draw a stick figure without it looking rubbish. This is about the 10th day of my run of no ability and I'm getting really hacked off with it.........................
Cook.E.Monster, on the other hand, has produced the best picture I've ever seen him draw.
Well done mate - Good luck in the final.
Your picture is fantastic!

gotta go with the monster on this. i like the sharpness and linework beastie's got, but i'm learning how to draw horses right now myself and cook's just really went that extra little bit.
well done both.
I saw your pic and came to vote on your behalf but then I saw what Monster did and have got to give him the nod. Your Death Dealer rocks and all and I think your being too hard on yourself but the Monster put in the extra ingrediant, love, and it shows. But if he hadn't then it would be close.

Damn you Beastie...you beat me in the first round, you were supposed to win the whole tournament!!!
Just kidding, these are both great...but cook e. did just give it that little extra.

There are quite a few things that I have issues with on Cook's drawing, but I still had to go with it....
Good job from both though.

Cooke and Beastie, two of my favorite artists and two of my favorite people on the board.
What a great draw off guys! You both did a bang up job. Really Beastie you did a better job than you're giving yourself credit for. Even with your "bad" drawings you are a great artist imo. This one reminds me of Walter Simonson. One of my favorite artists when I was a kid. Great stuff man!
And Cooke, what can I say? That is just great work man. You get better and better with every pic. Really nice job Cook!

Well it takes one giant to knock down another. I tip my hat to both of you young gents. Exceptional work but I gotta hand this one to Cook E. That drawing is just amazing.
Goddamn. Cook won it hands down.
Sorry about the block, Beastie. Don't let it get you down. You just need to have an annoying house guest that makes you so afraid to leave your computer alone that you sit and draw on it all the time. So afraid because he'll infest it with porn to the point of maxing out a hard drive, losing important files and corrupting the O/S! So I sit and draw whenever he's around now.

Hey there Beastie,
Man, I'm sorry that you're going through this block...I hate see'n anyone that has a passion for doing art go through this, hell, I just went through one (you know what I'm talkin' bout) and I beat myself up just the same! But the folks here gave some really good advise on how to get back on track...just step away for a few... and like I do, start small and work your way back up.
As far as your Death Dealer, dude, I love the intensity and I still see the flashes of the good 'ol Beastie we all know and love, so I don't think it'll take long for you to pull outta this block. Oh, and don't count yourself out just yet, I personnally think this is still up for grabs...
Take it easy brutha!

once again, great job guys! Both pics have different things I like. And Beastie.....if that pic is " unadulterated crap" I wish to one day be so lucky to draw as well as you do on a bad day. :D

Both are good.
Beastie, man, I hope you don't let this bad streak get you down. I've found that when I feel well, I draw well, and if I get down at all, it shows in my work.
What I've found works for me, is to grab a sharpie marker, one big pile of xerox paper, and as many photos of the figure/face as I can find. Then I just do gesture drawings, until such point as I once again feel confident about my drawings.
Once I get that confidence going, I second-guess myself less, and turn out better drawings.
Again, as I've found, once I begin to second guess myself, the ship sinks.
But again, I haven't had that problem in a while, thanks I believe, to confidence building exercises. Baby steps!
Well, you can ignore me if you want, but I swear by this!!!
And Cook., that's really cool man! The horse reminds me of Epona, from the Zelda games, on the N64! And that's always goog, in my book!

cook e. monster got my vote;bat;

You both did an excellent job!
Beastie, I like your stylized version of him but I really feel that Cook E. captured the essence of the character. So I voted for Cook.
There are some problems with Cook E's pic, but he did go the extra mile with this one. Good background and the layout is great... really dynamic. The shading is also wonderful!
The only real problems I see with the pic is that the horses neck could be longer and the head larger. Death Dealer's leg is bent up kinda funny as well.
Really nice stuff guys!
