I like both of these depictions of Captain America!

Deth's colors really make his linework pop out at you, especially that left hand!

JCatlett76's Cap battle-scene is cool for all of the story-telling elements in it.

Went with Deth this time around, nice job to both of you!

Thanks for the compliment Sean. I was worried that it wouldn't come out looking like much at all considering my hand injury and the fact that I started over three hours before the deadline lol... That and it's been absolute chaos around my house with people just dropping over out of the blue. I made a friend watch a movie for a couple of hours last night while I worked on this. I would like to have given it a more completed look as far as the landscape but life is too short and time was something I haven't had in abundance as of late.

Deth:
Man, I love the colors and pure drama in your piece. I think I'll print it and add it to my collection of art from PJ that I flip through sometimes for inspiration.

The linework isn't much on Deth's. He's apparently one of those guys who can save a piece by throwing color on top of it. I hate the flag background, but I voted for it because it looked the better of the two.

Jcatlett, from a composition standpoint, you had it going on, but you weren't able to pull off the full scope of your vision.

Deth has a much more fully realized piece, so I went with him. I have to agree with Pop though that the flag background is killing me. It's very MS Paint. The way the shadows are hitting it as well are making Cap's presence in space unpossible.

the linework is something I'm going to have to work on. It's has a completely different feel when drawing digitally than traditionally. My traditional linework is much sharper but I'm trying to move to a new medium so theres going to be a period where the quality just isnt the best that I can put out. As for the coloring, to be honest I'm very inexperienced with coloring and of all my skills coloring is probably the one I have the least confidence in. It is what it is though, and all I can do is learn and try to improve. As for the background what do you think would have made for a better background? I can always change it.

If you wanna keep the flag, at least go with a rippling flag instead of the cardboard cut-out flag. Put it up against the sky for even more depth, something to give it some life.

yeah man that flat flag BG is killing this piece but you still came out on top on this one. I would like to see you add some color to your light source to frame your figures better.

A background that goes along with the energy of the pose would have worked better. The stagnant flag kills it (looks a bit clipart-ish), and also creates weird depth issues with the foreshortening.

ok I will try to change it later

The avengers behind him.... Him leading a platoon into battle.... A bunch of cops hoping up from behind some cars... Anything inspirational

I would like to add that the color choices for both Cap and the flag are less than ideal.

Man...I'm being destroyed here lol. I don't mind, at least it's by a great competent artist like Deth! I'd feel bad if it were Donnstar or someone like that >D
