Ok guys so here we are, I'm call my first sequential challenge. So you wanna get into comics right, but you don't have as much experience with storytelling as you do with just plain old drawing? Well this is an exercise intended on giving anyone of any skill level a chance to practice just that.
Objective: Gain storytelling experience while re-interpretting movie scenes into comic book pages. All decision making is up to you: what to emphasize about the story and why/how is all on you. What do you think is important here?
Rules: Take the screen shots provided and draw up at least 2 at most 4 consecutive comic book pages. Please don't trace push yourself and don't take the easy way out. *all around redraws are fine too if thats what you wanna do just hold on to the idea behind the scene
Deadline: Next month 9/15

Synopsis:This scene is actually the first time that Frankenstein's monster is shown. The main action of the sequence is that the peaceful side of the creature is shown as the doctor opens a sky window and shows the creature day light and the monster seems calm. All that is shattered as the assistant steps too close with a torch and startles the creature, the doctors are forced to wrestle him down. And fade out.

So who wants to train with me?

@ ReggieR3mote - I planned out a bigger narrative to include all of the stills, but didnt get to it. This was a relaxing challenge.

@ JDB1987 - Thanks!

@ ReggieR3mote - I considered this more of a training camp. If you feel the need to compensate me, set up another one! Im down to do that as well. This was very relaxing and got me in the mood for Halloween. I hope you keep this up cuz I genuinely enjoyed it.

Ok if you guys are seriously down I'll do another and have it up and running by friday at most. I didn't already have one setup cause i though everyone forgot but you DIS you really came through actually still super happy about that. Next one i'm thinking a fight scene maybe? Use this time to hone in on some action scenes. Thoughts? And I might ask a mod if i can do these over in the community projects section so that maybe we can get some more run off traffic.

Alright here's the deal Scmarooney is cool with this going in the community projects and is down with the idea. I'm thinking about bumping down the deadlines to a straight up 2 week deadline and nothing is mandatory since this will turn into a sketch group. I'm going to post just 2 sheets of boards (panels / screen shots) and anyone can do as much or as little, people can do a sketch study of one shot or go full on and turn the given information into a comic book page.

I'll start this as of next monday in the community projects area.

DIS: good suggestions man i've been thinking of fight scenes too like the last boxing sequence from Snatch. But halloween is coming up so i might do another horror movie soon.
