Welcome to April and Weekly Sketch Group #253! Every PJ member is welcome to post a sketch (or as many as you like ;)) in the weekly sketch group, so please join us this week and every week! Got a great idea for a sketch group topic you would like to draw or see your fellow artists draw? Just PM me the details and I'll endeavor to include it in a future installment!

WSG #253 topics:

1. Golgo13: Draw the Anime Assassin Duke Togo!

2. Mary Jane Watson - She-Venom!: What IF Peter Parker's best girl found the Alien Symbiote and became Spiderman's deadliest enemy?

3. Redesign: Redesign your favorite X-man (or woman, natch ;)!) using a theme (historic or fantasy) of your choice. Examples might be Wolverine from the Old West, Spanish Inquisition Phoenix or how about a Napoleonic War Magneto?

*Note: This week there is no Original Character/Concept due to my not having any more of them to post :(. Hopefully the writers will step up with a batch of new characters to draw in the coming weeks (hint! hint! ;))! If YOU would like to submit an original character to be drawn by the weekly sketch group please PM me the details and I'll include it in a future sketch group!

I am stunned the writers ran out of characters.

Speaking for myself, I didn't want to deluge or try hogging things, so kept it to one character every few weeks. Wouldn't be surprised if the other writers felt the same way. That and not wanting to O.D. on that giddy rush every time you see someone bring one of your characters to life :)

Yeah, I was unaware there were no writer submission characters this week and I kind of felt the same way as Zepster; I didn't want to monopolize this part of the sketch group.

I'll send a bunch to SC Marooney to use as he needs them.

Did this one without reference. Sometimes I like to draw without using reference to test how much I actually remember. Afterall drawing is really just a practice of selective memory.

I like to go from memory a lot. Its like solving a puzzle.

I used to think it was the artists aim to draw purely from the head. However after studying the anatomy in detail recently I have come to realise that to capture my favourite aspects of anatomy in my own drawings I need to really truly understand how it works. And the only way to do that is to observe, draw and repeat.
