So, we had some issues with a number of people showing up late last month. Here are some points to try to help in that.
A) All topics must be posted in this thread. They will be chosen by the higher ranked fighter. If they are not posted here by the 1st, the next ranked fighter can choose and post.

B) If you're having troubles with the 25th deadline, pretend that it's actually on the 24th - that way you won't be late. C) You can contact us at pummelentry@gmail.com if you have issues with the site or want to submit your entry early. Please be sure to have a clear subject title though.

Some big moves in this division. Fcoesquival finally made the leap and joined the Heavy ranks, and we got another person "leaping" up to the championship belt - Electronick.

We've also got some new blood joining us... Epic moved up from the Mids, and old familiars Deth and Slam are back in the action.

Ok CW, I'm feeling gritty. In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war... Warhammer 40k this month. A richer, more dense setting there never was. Anything Warhammer 40k. From the popular Ultramarines to the lowest sump-spiders of Necromunda and anything in between. If it can happen in 40k, it's fair game.

That said, if you don't dig 40k or don't know the setting then feel free to suggest a topic. I'm game.

I haven't drawn anything focused on a female character in months so I sorta want to, but I also want to draw a really unique looking guy.

I'm never really sure what time the actual deadline is (since I am GMT), I'm going to color this tomorrow after work, so this is a placeholder..NOT my final piece. Will have to decide then if I stay for another month or not, usually I end up doing my work the last week and you just have to go with what you've got. Not much time for planning, and as a result even if I color this, it won't be more then a mediocre piece.

Nice one JC, it's like our drawings were separated at birth. I still need to go scan, and you'll see what I mean. :)

I really need to fix my scanner, my friend's is too small and cropped the left side and top. :/ First time working with markers and ran out of time, but it was a fun experiment, and I kept up the trend of doing each one of my pummel entries in a different technique.

for me it's not "one piece a month"

My focus and passion right now is sticking to my personal vision for my illustrative education.
i draw when i get-up.. go to work, come home, draw and then pass-out of the floor; rinse repeat.
(there's some BSing around on the interwebs to unwind; but mostly that's my life)

I didn't bring it like I'm capable because my heart wasn't in this.
my heart is in finishing what I started with my studies.
My evening showing-up for the match was a purely "don't be a *****" thing.

I'm basically like "**** that shit (acquiescing to assumed expectations) ...I'mma pull back and follow my bliss"
(and right now that's studying *shrugs*)
I'll probably come back to stuff like this when I ironed out some pretty fundamental creases in my understandings of all things illustrative.
and if/when that happens I'll stay in stuff like this till I'm a pro.

that said I appreciate the objection: it implies you actually care whether I'm here or not.

You know what Juggs, I'm gonna give it another month. It's just that a good illustration for me would probably take about a week to do (like every day an hour or so), and that's a big chunk of my time that I use for creative work. My interests lately have just shifted and I haven't been that motivated from the topics I get. I can't even remember the last time I picked a topic? I'm just more of an anime type of person, and my knowledge of marvel and stuff is very limited. I'll see how it goes next month!

Get a good Illustration once on a while would be great, but you can't get it if you don't keep coming the "bad" ones, you'll learn more from them. In my case my free time goes from almost-nothing to barely-nothing, but I know that Pummel has helped me to keep producing both the Bad and Good artworks, It's just a game, but what a game!!
