Weekly Sketch Group #238:
Welcome to the penultimate sketch Group of 2011! It's almost Christmas time and as Fill-in moderator of the Sketch Group I'd like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday! Manji, your regular moderator, is still helping Jolly St. Nick out (something about wedging the Jolly Old Elf into a pair of Spanx as he overdid it a bit during Thanksgiving ;)), so I'll be your host again this week.
If you have any wonderful ideas for sketch group topics PM me with the details and I'll be happy to include them in a future installment!
And now here are this week's topics as the show must go on:
1. Fables: Draw your favorite Fable from the most excellent Vertigo comic series. Draw Snow White, Bigby, Rose Red, any of the Animal Fables or even the evil Gepetto (if you're feeling naughty this week ;)!)
2. Christmas Grab Bag!: Draw something festive and Holiday related! (Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa, Festivus, whatever holiday you celebrate is okay for this one too :)!)
3. Original Character or Concept:
by Deadline
(It's a classic western reinvention of a vampire stranger walking into a bar on fire & getting weird looks from the patrons)
The dawn on the horizon is an evil bloody red, it's light cutting across the desert, great vistas of sandy landscape littered with broken with trees outcroppings of rock cacti & the waste products of humanity beer cans black rubbish bags road sign declaring bar up a head riddled with holes
a small cloud of Dust in the distance along the highway is fast approaching small wild life along the road notice the sound of an engine.
A biker in full black on a 1979 suzuki GS long kneck Jap chopper in black helmet black visor closed modern stylish jacket leather, boots, armored up shins calf muscles on his trousers is peeling by fast from a horizontal view. scarf flapping in the wind behind him on fire. like most of the gaps in his clothing smoke & fire seems to bee originating from there.
A bar in the distance with a timber-wolf classic car outside rusting in the elements beside a trailer burnt out. the Neon sign declares "Here Be dragons Bar" the bar letters are broken. The bar itself is built up of older buildings & has a misshaped appearance.
not unlike some of the older Gothic american house's. with a shed slapped on the side full of rubbish and auto parts, A single 50s red gass pump rusted to hell stands beside a big container off a gass delivery trucks rear end front end plus wheels are missing. Motorbikes hog the front end of the entrance to the bar likes puppies suckling a bitch
The rider on fire jumps of the bike runs to the front door & shoves his way in breaking the locks of the steel bar door single handed flat armed with his palm , to stand smoking as he kicks the back door closed with his heel, a bunch of Bikers have a young woman straddled over a pool table her cloths torn her face bruised they all have confused looks on their face's. a single looking guy is caught peeing out through the curtain, has a dumb expression op his face
And there you have it my fellow artistic Grinches and Grinchettes! Have a Happy Holiday and keep your pencils sharp!
