Weekly Sketch Group #208

Here we are, at the last full week of May and summer is right around the corner! That means it must be time for another new sketch group! Manji is still off at the Shaolin temple trying not to leave paw-prints on the rice-paper, so I'll be your Weekly Sketch Group fill-in-moderator again (cue sad Incredible Hulk television series music...). As always, if you have any fantastic ideas for a sketch-group topic, PM me and I'll try to include it next week.

So, all that said, lets get right to this week's amazing new topics:

1. Randy "Macho-Man" Savage: RIP Macho Man, hope you're snapping into a slim-jim in heaven, or wrestling valhalla....Oooohhh-yeah!!!
2. The Amazing Spiderman: Spidey's got a new costume, but you can still draw the classic one if you like ;).
3. Draw a yourself as a Simpson's character. Include your family and friends if you want to!

4. Original premise or character:
18 year old Yoshi Wasabi was good at only two things, Hot Dog eating contests and inventing things. After winning the Nathan's hot-dog eating contest in 2011 he took his winnings and built a time-machine after carefully studying the movie: Back to the Future. Before anybody could stop him, he leapt into the machine and disappeared from the present with a flash of light.

Yoshi reappeared in 1605 outside Edo Castle in Japan, and allowed himself to be captured and taken before the Shogun. He immediately challenged the Shogun: Ieyasu Tokugawa, to a hot-dog eating contest. His Samurai honor at stake, the Shogun could not resist a challenge from the strangely dressed young man. Yoshi easily won, downing 42 hot dogs to Tokugawa's 3. Even better (for Yoshi), the Shogun choked on a badly chewed piece of hot-dog as he was drawing his katana to hack Yoshi to bits. To be the MAN, he had to beat the MAN, and Yoshi had done just that. He was named Shogun over all of Feudal Japan.

Yoshi immediately set upon a plan of modernization and industrialization with the aim of building giant robots; His master-plan set in motion, Yoshi spent the next few years fathering a veritable herd of children, and successors ,with the smoking-hottest concubines in the whole country. In 1610 Yoshi mysteriously disappeared from Japan. The history texts of the time only say that Shogun Wasabi disappeared in a flash of light.

Almost 250 years later, when Admiral Perry sailed into Tokyo Harbor, he was met by a force of giant, amphibious, Turtle-bots that quickly destroyed the Admiral and his fleet. Because of this, Yoshi's hated nemesis and great, great, great, great-grandson of Admiral Perry: Brad Perry, was never born. Since Brad never existed, he never gave Yoshi a swirly in the 10th grade. Since Yoshi never got a swirly in the toilet at school, he was able to date Brad's super-hot girlfriend, who had no memories of Brad; with billions from his inventions and a super-model wife, Yoshi easily became President of the United States in 2028.

He never told anybody what the tattoo on his shoulder: "eat it, Brad Perry!" meant.

And there you have it, my fellow Sketch Group Peeps! Sharpen those pencils, find any old scrap of paper and start drawing!

AH HA! - however, for the NO-PRIZE (anyone else remember those?) - I'll suggest that Yoshi brought hotdogs with him in the time machine...:)

Had just finished a three page spider-man story and I have never watched wrestling so I was kinda stuck for this one. Spent most of this week trying to find a way to sneak in a different character, here are the results.

Loads of good stuff this week, and also good to see samizdat back again. The only -ve thing is that not so many of us went for that HotDog guy... I like the idea, if I get a bit of time tomorrow I try and draw him.

Spidey was my favourite when I was a child, and that's why I was always a bit afraid drawing him. This is my first spidey drawing since childhood:

Thanks, Jcatlett76! I actually drew up family portraits of some friends and relatives for Christmas presents a few years back, so got pretty good at aping Groening's style.
