Welcome to another new week and that means another new Weekly Sketch Group! I'm your friendly, neighborhood Temporary-Moderator for this group, until Manji returns (once and future king, that sort of thing ;)). As always, PM me any suggestions for next week's sketch group. This week is almost ALL suggestions from long time participants!

And now on to this week's Mighty Topics:

1. Quasar: Marvel's cosmic superhero!
2. ANY of Grant Morrison's 7 Soldiers
3. Storm and Black Panther: couple dujour of the week.
4. Zombie Apocalypse Survivor Self-portrait: Draw yourself, after you've survived the first few weeks of the coming Zombie Apocalypse:skull:.

5. And here is a feature that Manji used to include from time to time- An original character or premise, this week written by yours truly:

March 1862. When 19 year old Abby Rathbone recieved news of her husband's death- near Fort Donelson, Tennessee, she wept for the man she loved. Unlike most Civil War widows, Abby could do more than just grieve, though. You see young Mrs. Rathbone was the niece of famed Admiral Dahlgren, inventor of a revolutionary naval cannon; Abby had inherited, and some said( while others quietly whispered) FAR surpassed the Admiral's gifts for invention. Vowing revenge on the killers of her beloved husband, Abby furiously went to work in her Uncle's unused Pennsylvania workshop.

When Union and Confederate forces clashed at the battle of Antietam in September of that same year, both sides were stunned into silence, as a giant machine lumbered onto the battlefield. The machine, described by one reporter as "a Land-Ironclad, walking, as it belched smoke from it's steam engine, like some fantastic Titan of another age. The cyclopean-monstrosity had a self-loading 15 pound cannon on its left and a Gatling gun spitting a constant stream of hot lead on it's right. A terrible, mechanized-herald of a new age in war."

Matthew Brady, famed photographer of the Civil War, was too stunned to focus his camera as Abby's behemoth waded into Stonewall Jackon's lines that afternoon. But you, as a war-correspondent for the Saturday Evening Steampunk picked up your trusty pencil and drew what it looked like when the Army of Northern Virginia was routed and the face of warfare changed...


And there you have it, my fellow sketch group peeps! Sharpen those pencils and start drawin'!

seemed to be doing it so I figured, what the heck. I'm still the gracious host of

Hey guys, havent posted in awhile so I came to sketch group for ideas XD

I did this in less then half an hour penciles to ink so its not very good...so I might do another one and take a little more time but here we go...

One week after the zombie out break has hit full scale, much of Kansas has been deserted. I stay, as leader of a once high profile gated community now turned surviver town. I lead a small group as we provide for our people and search for more humans.

Nah, no due date...just whenever. Normally try to get it done within the week I guess so that you can get feedback before the next week's thread pops up but people will post stuff to previous weeks' threads as well. And you're not obligated to post every week, it's just for fun. I'm working on a Storm/BP piece that I'll have up either tonight or tomorrow.

I ran through the zombie apocalypse idea today.

As you can see, I will have grown by 4 feet, and my awesome muscles will make me able to wield a shotgun as though it were a pistol, and I will have taken on a Rambo appearance.

Just a quickie, I'll try harder on my next one.

When the zombie apocalypse happened, NickGuy traveled over 1400 miles to find his daughter and her (slut) mother infected. Forced to kill them and remove his own arm, NickGuy now wanders the barren wasteland with no reason left to live, waiting for the end...

Your picture also made me realize that I spend a lot of time trying to use lines to designate details, whereas you use shading. I think that's another thing I should work on. Thanks for the revelation! :D

Heres my Klarion (one of the Seven Soldiers) sketch.
I'm not too happy with the anatomy or perspective on it but I got to try out some fun stuff with lighting which was nice. And I got it done in just under an hour :)

All the zombie sketches have inspired me its quick and dirty!
I awake in the morning to my dog barking and i peek out the window expecting the garbage man... but to my suprise somebody was stumbling around the cars out front. i leap to my feet still groogy grab my trusty 3 wood and the dog we head out i was shocked there stands a pale veiny corpse WALKING! COULD THIS BE ITS HAPPENING! I was ready ive seen the movies its a ZOMBIE! Remmy i send in first he takes him down fast i go to work on the head almost enjoying the sound of skull cracking till im exusted.Quickly scanning the area and..... there are more. Deep breaths..fire fill my lungs, sun burns my eyes and adrenalin pumping i summon remmy and we go to work cleaning the neighborhood. Bloody and half asleep we finish and head home feeling a short term relief to return to my wife as she just finish makeing coffee. She is shocked when i walk in stained in red i tell her coffe please as i catch my breath.Frantic she turns on the News as the headlines reads PSN DOWN GAMERS GO OUTSIDE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS. My head swims what have i done.
