PJ Pencilling Challenge #4 - Superman riding a bicycle

Dr. Null sees that you kleine Skizze Affen are intimidated by Dr. Null's challenges. Don't deny it, Dr. Null can see it in your eyes!

Let it never be said that Dr. Null is not merciful. Dr. Null knows all you really care about is drawing Übermenschen and Überfrauen with big Kokosnüsse wearing tight tight clothes.

And so, gaze on the newest challenge!

Draw Superman - in full costume - riding a bicycle. Not a futuristic or kryptonian bicycle, mind you, but a normal, realistic bicycle. Tassles are optional. In pencil only.

Dr. Null cannot wait to see what Katastrophen you present for this challenge...

I would say the difference is that one is a pencil, and the other is not. I personally don't care what you used - could have been a crayon. I'm just thinking that evil Dr. Null might take issue with it, since it was part of his stipulations and he's a stickler for details. Seriously.

Oh sure, Dr. Null accidentally liquifies a few "priceless national treasures" (Dr. Null calls them statues) in some European Union states that shall remain nameless and suddenly DR. NULL is the bad guy. Faschistische internationalen Polizei.

Dr. Null had hoped to be pleasantly surprised by the entries into this most recent challenge. Dr. Null was not.

Dr. Null has accepted the fact that you Künstler Affen aren't smart enough to use the internet for reference photos (though Dr. Null will still mock you for it). But Dr. Null's immense and enormous and überdimensional brain is having fits trying to understand why it is that SO MANY OF YOU FAILED TO COMPREHEND THE RULES OF THE CHALLENGE.

Dr. Null must admit, the chunky man Fahren mit dem Fahrrad could be construed to be Superman. But Dr. Null thinks Superman should go on a diet and perhaps get a better fitting suit.

Dr. Null also worries that the bicycle should see a doctor. It appears to have tumors on its wheels.

Nice first attempt here Ambo.
Before da Doc gets here let me give you some thoughts.
Its easier to understand if I tell you in english than German like the Doc.

He will tell you first to use reference.
The likeness and the costume are off.
He looke more like Jimmy Neutron than Supes.

The bike needs work too.
Its to low as the pedals almost touch the ground.
The bike looks too small for him, more of a boys bike than a adult one.
Not to say that a adult couldnt ride one but would find it harder
to ride.

Really did this on the fly (5-10min type of sketch), no ref to supes or pushbike.

Dr.Null thanks for the crits.. and I see your point of view also.
Have a feel for what goes on here now.. and Dr.Nulls crits only inspire to produce something of quality.

I think what Dr. Null is trying to say, CrazyDiamond, is that there's no clear view of Superman's identifying features. The Doctor has ... an abrasive nature, sure, but the whole point is to fulfill the challenges to the letter.

I really like PTX40's and Jeremy Bear's drawings, but there are some bike anatomy fails on both. Drive train on the wrong sides of both bikes. And PTX40's head tube assembly is.... impossible?
