I think saying that I suck at this point in the game would be a bit pointless so let's just move on. If I don't post the group on Monday next week I will send each and everyone of you a dollar. So with that being said lets get to this week's topics (a few which came from a fellow PJer) and if you have a suggestion just PM me or tattoo it on Jeremy Dale's ass because I will see it there when I kick it later for no apparent reason.
Oh one last thing Happy Birthday to Gene Colan! One of my favorite artists who is way underrated and has more dynamics in his figures than a gymnastics meet during an earthquake.
Green Lantern- any Green Lantern, or all of them.
or
Red Sonja
or
Captain Marvel/Shazam
or
Gene Colan kicking my doggie ass for not being on time with the WSG
or
The Shadow
or
Igor of Frankenstein Fame
Have fun!

How many times has Red Sonja been a topic now? It seems she shows up once a month.

Was this comment intentionally hilarious? I really hope so. I have never heard "the cycle" referred to as Red Sonja before. That's kind of brilliant. Great pic too.

Been on PJ for a while and always wanted to take part of the WSG and since Manji besmirched me last week on Twitter I felt the need to start on here. Here’s my “Big Cheese” and I totally intend to do a couple more on this week also. I think I’m going to color it when I get home with Copics and maybe a digital version also.

still weening myself off refs, hence the big honkin feet, awkward proportions, and
stiff pose. *sigh*
Interestingly (to me anyway), Red Sonja was the topic of the first WSG I ever participated in,
and I used some famous refs for those...long time ago....these are those....

Have not contributed in a long time, but had some spare moments at work and came up with something. Unfinished of course, like always.

I'm not late until the new week is up right?
I was thinking of doing the Gene Colan vs. Manji one, so I went to Wikipedia, found his picture and drew it for reference sake. Not too bad a likeness.

However, I decided to Captain Marvel / Shazam instead since real people fighting is a bit disturbing. At first I was going to do the scene of him arriving to stop Superman in Kingdom Come, but instead I opted to do something more original. Now he is doing what superheros ought to do more often, and that is fighting a giant robot. I should title the picture "Boot to the Head".

Great sketches this week everyone.

Met Neal Adams over the weekend so I thought it would only be appropriate to do Green Lantern.

Nice job, Rich! I love the Giordano-ish vibe from the inks.
Also, "Met Neal Adams over the weekend" needs a bit more explanation! :D

Neal was in town for the Dragon Con premiering his new book The Art of Neal Adams. This was the first time he's ever been in my neighborhood and I had to jump at the opportunity to meet him. When I met him I was so nervous with adrenaline I almost passed out. He signed some of my books and I told him every line he lays down on paper is transformed to gold and that instead of investing in gold people should invest in his art. He laughed and told me some people have sent their kids through college selling his art. The one thing that I've learned about him is he takes his time with everything. Everything line he draws is layed down with calculated precision.
