Here's another in the experimental colored-paper drawings I've been trying. This one is an old school Iron Man. Been a while since I looked at the Essential's Iron Man volume but it seemed Tony Stark was changing armor-styles every 2 or 3 issues.

Should it be "infinite sketch group"?
Here's a quick balrog I did last year when I first started
drawing again (after about 22 years...man where does it go). Hope this is okay to post here:

of us who don't produce the quality or quantity for their own Blog.

Scmarooney, I'm digging those colored paper drawings. I might have to try that myself now. Are you using markers on those? What kind of paper is it?
I was cleaning up my room yesterday and found this Jubilee sketch lying around. Figured I should post it somewhere.

Thanks gadgetwk, and cool Jubilee drawing! The colored paper is a colored tagboard, costs about 3 bucks for 50 sheets and is 8.5x11 inches. Comes in 5 or 6 different colors. The drawing is done in pencil and then inked with a traditional dip-pen or brush, (I'm using a NIKKO G-type pen nib on most of it) The white highlights are Daler Rowney white acrylic inks and the colored areas are an opaque watercolor paint called gouache, pretty much available at any art supply store. They do look pretty distinctive and I've actually had a bit of luck selling the Hulk one and another one I did not long ago for a few bucks, which motivates me to do more of them.

My nephew is running for student body officer in school, so I made him an Iron Man poster. I think it looks pretty cool. I basically made a grid and scaled up a picture I found online, so no creativity or composition points for me. The board is regular poster board (28"x22" if I remember). The red is magic marker, the black is a duo-pen brush/marker, and white is white-out.
(I erased his name for online posting safety, don't want his Mom getting mad at me.)

Thanks Eric. That's a cool version of the Hulk in your sketch, I can really see the Art Adams' influence there, nice job! I love the Hulk because I think he's one of those character where just about ANY version works in some way.

I was going to post this in the artist trading card group to see if anyone wanted it, but I messed it up while adding watercolor. I don't think it is good enough to trade anymore. It seemed a shame just to file it away so here it is for everyone to have a look-see.

Hi, I wanted to show off the pictures I entered in the local county fair. The first you might remember from Weekly Sketch Group 154 (or not). It is a re-draw of the cover of Amazing Fantasy 15 (first appearance of Spider Man). The second is based on a picture I took on the Jordan River Parkway. That one took forever and wasn't very fun to draw, but I wanted something more art-show-ish than spiderman. The good news is I got some ribbons. Now I am thinking I need to think up a picture for the state fair.
