So here's the idea.
1. You must pick a base emotion, and express it as fully as possible without any facial features present.
2. No popular characters, the character must be original.
3. Any medium, any idea.

Deadline is Sunday, April 11 at 12:00 noon

Shameless self-vote. :D

I'm pretty sure its frowned upon to vote for yourself. You can vote for the other person if you feel like they deserve it, and if not, its just best not to cast your vote at all in a poll in which you're involved.

Well since as long as I can remember, it didn't matter one way or the other. But if you take issue with it, A. I was honest about it, and B. Nobody really pays attention to anything short of PUMMEL, and I don't care about the poll. Plus, if you read the rules of my challenge, there were supposed to be no facial features present, and I followed the rules more closely. Granted, it's not an issue with me that ajkarp did something different, but I vote not only on whose skills are better (not saying mine are) but also who followed the guidelines more closely. So I'm justified. :D Frowned upon but not against the rules.

I just wanted someone to square off with, regardless of a poll.

I wasn't trying to sound like an 'e-prick' earlier. Its hard to get your point across on message boards without it coming off sounding all preachy and higher than thou. I was just sayin' to be sayin'...you know, before someone else came in sayin' the same thing...sorta. Know what I'm sayin'?

Since everyone is relating a version of what went down, I figured I should chime in. When I excepted the challenge I took the "faceless" concept as figuratively. That would explain why although my protagonist has a blank expression, you can see by his act of carrying this child through a dangerous cave is conveying strength and resolve. So I didn't get the concept correct, I already apologized to my competitor via PM.

Don't worry about it, I totally understand where you're coming from. I usually don't vote for myself but I figured ajkarp is a better artist and I figured he'd beat me regardless and I didn't want to look like a loser getting sympathy votes. But like I said, it's no big deal to me who wins. I'd totally do PUMMEL but I don't have steady internet access so I'm just looking for someone to square off with. I love challenges, they make me work harder.

Arguing on the internet is like winning a hard-boiled egg eating contest. Even if you win, you're still a dumbass.

Not to mention all the insufferable flatulence!

Vomit is common as well.

Hmmm. Regardless of your thought process as to why you voted for yourself -- I would advise against doing it.

In PUMMEL its a written rule that you can't vote for yourself -- and, although I know that this draw off is NOT part of PUMMEL - not voting for your own piece has always been considered part of the etiquette of the proving ground.

The fact that you've said that you 'usually' don't vote for yourself implies that you HAVE voted for yourself in previous matches -- and its just kinda, well, 'wrong'. If you think your piece is better than your opponents then just don't vote.

AJ's piece has more vibe, but I think I blew my vote the wrong way, since the contest says no facial features! Sorry Rock!
