This pose was found on youtube of a martial artist named chloe who invented her own type of scorpion kick....this seems perfect for Canvas since her fighting style is based around the attacks of a scorpion. Took me forever to get the top leg and her face similair to the other picture of her without having a mean look, but i finally pulled it off....so here goes.:D

Yea, I watched the video. Probably one of the coolest new moves I've seen. Doesn't seem too practical though... But awesome to see!

Shouldn't have to watch the video. It may be real, but this drawing of her foot looks odd.

You have her too wide facially...I did not realize what was happening in martial arts now days.

I don't think there's anything wrong with the drawing of the foot because it looks just like the picture. When I saw the drawing I said, "What's wrong with her foot," and then I saw the picture of the actual girl and I said "what's wrong with her foot." It's just an odd pose, so there isn't really anything wrong with it.

No matter how well drawn it is to match the photo, it has to look good as a drawing on it's own terms. The foot makes everyone take a step back and think it's a bad drawing.

actually now that i looked at it the foot is way too bent down...it needs to be stuck straight out at you more than leaning down to her head....Also the only reason why her face is like that is because she's chubby cheeked...plus she is a younger version of the actual thing ah have planed for Canvas...but then again she doesn't resemble the older version so there's isnt anything wrong with changing her face more to resemble a younger version of her older self. Thnx alot you guys, if you have more C&C, feel free....i check this one everyday since it has the most replies. I'll take as much help as ah can get so thnx alot again.:p

I think that for a drawing which is 2d, you need to figure out what kind of composition will tell what you want to show in the clearest terms. although based on a photograph the drawing ends up flattened out and you lose the depth a photo has, so I would reccomeng interpretiing this pose from a different angle, maybe 3/4ths etc. So you can see clearly where each of her body parts are etc. Also much of the drawing is similar line weights, think about making each part as it forshortens toward you a little thicker as to push it infront of the latter part. The arms are well thought out and the details are nice but your losing the torso in this perspective and the costume in the leg makes the lower half hard to read. I'm not trying to rip you apart here, this is a very challenging position to try. goodluck!

well on that note...ima tackle this pose again with knowledge of that....LOl....and dont worry, im an artist, you have to be trained to take bad criticism so its all good. Thnx alot

Shadow placement will benefit..as long as the foreshortining is correct...you wont go wrong;)
