Thanks for the challenge Pencilartist, doing this drawoff helped me focus on likenesses more, even though I failed on this one. I'm still going to keep at it.

PENCILPHALLUS, MAN I HOPE YOUR JOKING. PENCILARTIST! Morganza I really like this version of your Spider Woman. It Qualifies to me. Oh well, as long as it inspires you to get better. This whole challenge really opened a door of improving for me too.

its like a choice between the Girl and the Woman, I had to go with the girl cause I'm young.
Under no circumstances do I believe Morg Traced this though, Morg is honest and hardworking he just happens to have a flavor for the 80s ladies is all.

I say post the reference so we can have a better idea of who came closest to achieving the goal here. Then I'll vote.

Okay, let's not let this get derailed. Removed the post so others aren't riled into derailing this thread. Let's stay focused on the competition please.

Sorry about the pencilartist joke - this was just meant as a joke. Sorry again for that.
I think you should be voting for pencilartist though instead of voting morganza. Pencil artist is visually searching for his lines and his drawing has personality. I still believe the spiderwoman to lack and naturalness.

Yeah, Morg, you didn't nail that likeness at all, but thanks for that link. I used to be ga-ga-drooly over Tiffani Amber Thiessen. I even endured Beverly Hills 90210 just to watch her.
I'm voting Morg because it's a better drawing. Also, anyone who's been around here long enough knows that when it comes to realistic portrayals of women and the multiple positions they can put themselves into, Morg is the man. What I love about this particular image is it's simplicity.
Pencilartist's pose seems uncomfortable and something about the head and neck seem off. It's also not cute, foxy or sassy, whereas Morg's hits at least one of those adjectives.

As I said before, Morg's Spider Woman does qualify. As he drew from reference, I drew from my head. There were no rules for which way to draw a woman from reference or from imagination. This was exactly how I hoped it would turn out. Our two different styles shown together. Morganza is a Fantastic artist. I would not expect any less from him. Or from myself. This has been a lot of fun and someday down the road if Morganza wants to go at a fun challenge for the heck of it again, then I'll be there.
Great Work Morganza.

'Kay then. My vote went to Morganza even though she looked more like Gina Davis than Tiffany Thiesen. In the end, out of the two drawings, his is still more analytical looking while yours has a more caricature feel to it. Good job, both of you either way.

I think Morg's is well drafted, but the face is over rendered making it look a bit more man-like than it should be, which was a huge distraction for me. Less is more when drawing women's faces. Even if you're going for likeness. Sorry man, it just really killed it for me.

Yeah, I can see that. He could have definitely done without a few dozen lines on the right side of her face. Just the one smile line alone would have sufficed.
