I'll miss Tennant, but I'm looking forward to the new episodes.

Meh and yeah, respectively. Rose was never quite my type.

I think most of his companions have been considered attractive by the period of time in which the series was broadcast. The Fourth (Tom Baker) had Sarah Jane, Leela and Romana.

Rose was kinda hot,but Martha Jones was always average to me. The girl that played her sister in the show was hotter lol

I'm just talking about the reboot companions.

The other ones were extremely sexy haha

Interesting. I would have said the opposite. But we both agree the new one is a cutie.

Matt Smith, on the other hand... between the hair and the chin I keep seeing the bastard offspring of Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien. And yet whenever I see a little actual performance from him, I'm almost buying it. He's either going to annoy or impress the hell out of me.

Inkthinker- I've met the guy, he's a lovely chap. And so far he seems to have the quirkiness downpat. Also I'd have felt sadder at Tennant's depature if it wasn't so ludicrously overhyped (and he also appeared in pretty much all the TV schedule over Christmas!)

Well, that's marketing for you. They only have two settings, hype and ULTRA-HYPE.

I can take or leave Matt Smith, but I'm very much looking forward to seeing where Moffat takes things as showrunner.

This exites me as well. Moffat hasn't written that many Who episodes, but the ones he did write were some of the best. Some of the creepiest ones as well.
I know they're going with a clean slate for the new season. So I'm really curious if the show will have a noticeable shift in tone.

I've only gotten into Who since the new show started in 2005. I liked Christopher Eccleston, but I think Tennant will always be my doctor.
I'm glad his final episode was pretty decent. I didn't really like the pliot of the episode, but the final moments were perfect. I'll really miss him.

That said, the trailer for the new version doesn't look bad at all. I'm still weary about Matt Smith. But that's mostly because I don't like the guy's appearance. But I won't let something as shallow as that get in the way until I've seen at least a couple of episodes.

My biggest worry is that Matt Smith's Doctor will be too similar to Tennant's (at least in the "excited" moments). In the past usually there was a pretty big personality shift. Anyway, his first 30 seconds were uninspiring but then so were Tennant's (and Tom Baker's for that matter... his first appearance had him lying on the floor and not doing anything) so let's see, eh?

See, this is the reason I never really got into the show that much, the cast and writing style changes way too often. As soon I start getting used to the new faces and liking a particular direction the story is going, they abandon everything... just frustrates the hell outta' me.

Tom Baker was my first. But this was my favorite Doctor.

Too bad he didn't run with it for a couple of seasons.
